Bordering the western side of Spain and the Atlantic Ocean, the Portuguese Republic lies in south-western Europe and enjoys a particularly warm and inviting climate. The

the spreading Monsanto Forest Park, Lisbon has much to offer tourists, with other highlights including its series of public squares around the downtown district (Baixa),
the hilltop Castle of Sao Jorge, and the Teatro Nacional de Sao Carlos opera house.
Other notable Portuguese cities include Coimbra, Evora, Faro, Guimaraes, Porto and also Funchal, the capital of the Madeira islands.
